The TREW To You film project by @trewgear selects a handful of teams each year to make short ski and snowboard edits that show us just what their slice of riding looks like. A glimpse into the snow, the mountains, the people that make winter sports so. much. fun. We are thrilled to introduce you to one of these selected teams! Hailing from the East, we give you…. TEAM PIRATES OF THE CARABINER 🗡 @skitheeast athletes and students at University of Vermont that study hard and ski harder, @who_is_broid and @vilhelms.is.long.for.will instagram accounts are like skiing's greatest hits of some of the gnarliest most consequential terrain in the East. Adrian Hayden aka @who_is_broid was born and bred in the Adirondacks Saranac Lake, NY following his Patroller dad around @whiteface_mt as a kid. These days, Broid is rarely found without NY staple @stewartsshops Butter + PB Roll (IYKYK) in his ski pack, and prefers to ride lines that require bushwhacking, rappelling to get too, or ideally both. Will Miemis @vilhelms.is.long.for.will also grew up ripping around The Adirondacks’ Whiteface Mountain with parents who instilled in him a deep love of snow and life on two planks. Inspired by competitive freeskiing and niche ski movie culture, this East Coast team’s film will share what makes their corner of the world in the Adirondacks Mountains so special. Let’s stoke up these two rad humans of Team Pirates of the Carabiner for the creation of their film that will be going on tour in Fall 2025!

I enjoyed some switch turns in the new Mayuary snow yesterday. I have been working on my goofy turns lately to help balance my skills. It is nice to ride lines differently based on which foot I have forward. I am excited to take these skills to larger lines like @picaherry because some lines are safer to ride with the other foot forward. TEAM FOCUS SHIFT 🚠🏔 Budding filmmakers in the outdoor industry, Team Focus Shift is based in Salt Lake City, Utah and call the Wasatch Mountains home. The Wasatch may not be a huge range compared to others in the U.S., but is home to some of the steepest and most technical lines in the lower 48, not to mention the most accessible from a major city. An ideal day with this rad crew involves pocket chocolate, jelly beans, and riding a foot and a half of right-side-up Wasatch pow. Where do we sign up?? Between the beautiful riding of @kj_campbell, the spoken-word poetry of @bthe.poet and the artful captures and unique composition of @brmerrill and @aj.marino this film is going to deepen your love for all the mountains have to offer and then some. @trewgear is excited to share more of the faces behind this year's TREW To You Film Project! Six amazing teams across North America created short films this winter about their crew, their riding, and life on snow in their home mountains. Without further adieu - meet our first team hailing from Sun Valley, Idaho!!! Team Knitting Club 🧶👏 In a little south central Idaho valley nestled amongst the Smoky, Pioneer, Boulder, White Cloud, and Sawtooth Ranges, Team Knitting Club can be found....well, knitting. And skiing, of course! @dlwng @annemariedeffe @kikamack @woahlookattheclouds and @sarahverst live and play in the vast mountains surrounding Ketchum. Wandering up skin tracks, skiing lovely lines, and looking at ridges that go on as far as the eye can see, all under a sky so blue it sometimes looks fake. As a team of visual artists that rip, the Knitting Club expresses themselves as much through tactile artistry as they do by slashing deep snow and riding a beautiful line. @emily_tidwell_photo is a renowned action sports photographer and inspirational storyteller based in Reno, NV and has been a @trewgear ambassador for many years. Emily is also a climate activist working with the @protectourwinters Creative Alliance, helping passionate outdoor people protect the places and experiences they love from climate change. Emily shared a candid reflection with @trewgear on her personal path to advocacy in the outdoors. We hope this will inspire, break down barriers, and show that there is nothing wrong with a little fear when doing good. Nestled in the San Juan mountains of Colorado is a small scrappy town called Silverton. At first glance this place can appear as just a hotspot for young folks to ski backcountry lines, tune their big mountain skills, hibernate for the winter and flex when they say “I live in Silverton” to which people respond NO WAY! However it is much more than what people see on the surface. @trewgear ambassador @ev.schmev is grateful to live in such a stunning place with access right out her front door. Wrapped up an insane week @blanketglacierchalet with the @trewgear squad. After exploring the glacier for a while I spotted this line and decided to give it a go, almost ended up getting the skis jammed between the glacial ice and the rock. Here's to Marty 🍻⁠ ⁠ @martyschaffer grew up at @blanketglacierchalet - raised mutually by his parents, Al and Marion Schaffer, and the natural snowy playground that is the Blanket’s backyard. To say Marty knows the Blanket Glacier like the back of his hand....well, that would be an understatement!⁠ ⁠ With Marty being the official Captain of the @capowguiding crew that works out of the lodge, he is often regarded as the man with a plan. His knowledge runs deep in the backcountry - and if there is anyone you'd want showing you around this part of the world, it should without a doubt be this guy right here.⁠ ⁠ Not only is Marty knowledgeable, but he also rips on two planks. Riding for @4frnt_skis, he can hold his own; shredding glades and pillows to dropping massive cliffs, Marty truly is a jack of all trades. If his personable presence doesn't reel you in, his seemingly effortless style on sticks sure will. ⁠
