When two friends, Christina and Brigette, sat on Brigette’s Oxfordshire veranda twenty-five years ago musing on what they might create together, two things happened at once: first, they suddenly saw the faded florals of Brigette’s beautiful but threadbare tablecloth with fresh eyes. And second, a swarm of bees descended on a nearby tree. Both moments felt auspicious. And with that, Bees – the very first fabric in our collection – was born. Resurrected from an original Victorian document, its softly voluptuous rose and leaf motif, arranged in a joyful bunting formation, began the duo’s floral revolution.
