The 2nd photo is what BRUNT looked like exactly a year ago when we launched in Scheels at their store in Sandy, Utah. If you squint hard enough, you’ll see 4 styles of BRUNT boots in the middle of this display. No BRUNT branding or imagery, just 3 Marin’s and 1 Ohman boot standing alone on the shelf.  This boot wall in this 220,000 square foot store is literally in the far back right corner, an actual trek from the front entrance. I figured even if customers went into the store knowing they carried BRUNT, they’d never find our boots. What the picture might not tell you is, Scheels didn’t have any space in their stores for a new work brand, but they believed in the BRUNT’s brand authenticity and were willing to squeeze us in with a chance to prove ourselves in 9 of their stores.  Within the first few weeks they were almost completely sold out in every style in every size. I’d be lying if I said I expected results that were this off of the charts. I knew we had an incredibly powerful brand and we had just rebuilt all of our boots, significantly raising the bar on quality. But I had no idea how the BRUNT brand and products would be received in a retail store, on a shelf, standing alongside the biggest brands in the industry. Fast forward to today. I’m here at the same Sandy, Utah Scheels location checking out the BRUNT brand and product. See the 1st photo. Not only has the boot assortment doubled, the brand presentation is prominent, and Scheels will be adding our apparel line over the next two weeks giving us a chance to prove ourselves once again. Even better, we’re now in all 34 Scheels stores in 16 states across the country.  What this taught me - if you invest everything you have, mentally and physically, into building a brand that will could change an entire category, make sure you find a very selective group of partners that you fully trust, who share your values, and truly believe in your brand, and together you can drive results that an industry has never experienced to date.
