📸 This THURSDAY!! Join us this Thursday, June 5 from 7:00 - 9:00p to celebrate the opening of Morrison Gong’s solo exhibition Conjured Murmurs. “I lost my best friend and former lover, Nicholas Turbervill, to a heroin overdose in September 2024. In the wake of his passing, I invited friends to summon his spirit through conjuring rituals. Insects, brass bells, braided hair, ceremonial dagger—messengers of the sacred and the underworld—became our witnesses and collaborators. Conjured Murmurs speaks the language of ghosts, reincarnation, mediumship and continuing love after death.” Morrison Gong is a Chinese photographer with a background in performance and experimental filmmaking. They invoke the body as a site of haunting, wounding, conjuring and mythmaking. Their work converses with photography’s ability to anchor pain and losses within the realm of the physical and the metaphysical. Please join us for the opening celebration right here at BFC HQ. Drinks will be served, the artist will be present, and we’ll celebrate the beginning of this beautiful show together! ✨ #MorrisonGong
