Prep: Wipe your shoes with Angelus Leather Preparer & Deglazer before sanding to loosen the factory finish. This makes sanding way more effective! 2. Sanding (400 Grit): Sanding gives your paint something to grip to! Focus on high-crease areas like the toe box, but avoid sanding the stitching. Pro tip: Try Angelus Multi-Paper Wet Sandpaper, which comes in a variety of different grits. 3. Leather Preparer & Deglazer: Go back in with an applicator pad or cotton pad and Q-tips to really get into those corners. 4. Angelus Paintable Repair Filler (Optional): If you’ve removed a swoosh or detail, filler smooths out those holes for an even surface. Layer 2–3 times with dry time in between! 5. Tidy It Up: Optional, but trimming off loose strings or frays makes a big difference in the final look. 6. Sanding (Again!): Once your filler’s dry, use 800–1500 grit sandpaper for a smooth-as-butter surface. 7. Flat White Base Coat: Wipe away any dust, tape out lint, and apply a light coat of *flat* white paint (not regular white!). This matte base makes sketching way easier. 8.
