This piece emerged as a dynamic experiment conducted in real time, reimagining the Coachella attendee as an athlete navigating a marathon of endurance, creativity, and sensory immersion, particularly under the desert’s unrelenting heat. We drew inspiration from the ethos of Abc. Athletics, an idea dedicated to empowering the is designed to support the bodies of the worlds most creative minds by harmonizing the fitness of mind, body, and spirit into a holistic paradigm, transcending mere physicality. Coachella, as a crucible of art and music, aligns with this reconceptualized athleticism, prompting us to infuse the collection with California’s elemental and astrological motifs—sun, moon, sky, stars, and clouds—deeply rooted in the desert’s mystical aura. Our ambition lead us to explore a layered, almost collaged approach to jersey design. We envisioned a stained-glass window through which the sun’s radiant beams or the moon’s ethereal glow could pierce, evoking a tangible sensation of light and transcendence. The design comprises a dual-layered system: a long-sleeve base layer, printed with vivid imagery of the sun and a cerulean, cloud-streaked sky, paired with an outer wide-holed mesh layer adorned with a stained-glass pattern and a luminous orb motif. These elements are meticulously aligned so that the sun appears to radiate through the stained-glass overlay, creating a mesmerizing interplay of depth and light. The long-sleeve base ensures visual clarity, leveraging the brain’s innate ability to synthesize fragmented visual cues—a cognitive survival mechanism we playfully exploit to enhance the design’s impact. The suns crystalized print actually glistens through the wide hole mesh in the sunlight. - For the nocturnal counterpart, the base layer shifts to a night sky aglow with the moon and astrological constellations, encapsulating the festival’s diurnal-nocturnal duality. The crystalized moon print glistens in light underneath the mesh and the orb print gives the effect of moonlight pouring out onto the night sky.
