Inspired by the nostalgic ritual of selecting a postcard to commemorate a journey or share with loved ones—a cherished practice from childhood vacations, where parents returned with tangible tokens of their travels or a striking image captured a fleeting moment—we sought to reimagine this tradition for Coachella. Our vision culminated in the postcard crewneck, a versatile piece designed to resonate as both a personal keepsake and a thoughtful gift. The crewneck’s desert imagery meticulously evokes the evocative spirit of the Coachella Valley, rendered in intricate needlepoint that pays homage to the region’s mid-century aesthetic and rich cultural heritage. Both the frame and central image are crafted in this needlepoint technique, lending a tactile depth to the design. The accompanying text, “I’ve never met anyone like you in my entire life,” carries a multiplicity of interpretations—functioning as a poignant declaration when worn, sparking connection with onlookers, or as an intimate message when gifted as a “postcard” upon returning home, imbued with the festival’s transformative essence. - Details include needlepoint embroidered postcard and frame, chainstitch embroidered text, inverted seams with contrast thread, and printed glitter lineup on the back.
