On March 1st, I became the 48kg Raw Open World Record Holder with this pretty 200.5 kg/442-lb deadlift at 103.5 lbs bodyweight. My greatest labor of love. Have you ever fought for something so long that when it finally happens, the weight of it all—17 hard-earned training years of Heartbreak, Will, Pain, Triumph, and Love—rushes through you and you can’t help but just peel over. 10/10 recommend. 😭🫶 The road to get here was not linear. Over the course of almost 2 decades, I lifted 1x my bodyweight… Then 2x… Then 3x… Then 4x… Then 4.3x… I failed in between. A lot. Many said unlikely. I said, “I have more.” I tried for this attempt a total of 4 times in competition throughout the past couple of years. I devastatingly missed every single time. Defeat. Frustration. Embarrassment. Maybe they were right. On my 5th attempt at it last weekend at the @usapowerlifting Arnold Sports Festival, every bit of my dream came to life. I replayed this moment again and again in my mind a million times. How would it look. How would I feel. The story was too clear. Too real. Drive. Fire. Euphoria. It was more blissful and more overpowering than I could’ve ever imagined. Overjoyed with tears and happiness sprinting into my husband’s arms, and celebrating with my family, coaches, and friends is what makes a story complete. It was my dream. If I could talk to my younger self, the girl who went through three major knee surgeries and questioned if she’d ever play sports again, she’d probably laugh and cry at the same time and say, “we always did like a challenge.” Raw Nationals is next and one thing is for certain, This 💭 dream 💭 continues.
