When planning the buildout for our new LA flagship last year, no detail was too small to consider. Take the curtains, for instance - our designer, @studiomeadow, wanted to bring softness and warmth into the space while emphasizing the tall ceilings. Instead of just sourcing something generic, we reached out to our manufacturing partners in India to have linen fabric dabu dyed to give them a mottled, inconsistent pattern. Dabu is a resist dye technique where mud is applied by hand to a fabric; once the fabric is dyed, the color penetrates and resists in beautiful and unexpected ways. As soon as we received the curtains for the shop we knew that the fabric deserved to be turned into a garment as well. Releasing today are a limited run of Vacation Shirts that are dyed using the same painstaking process. Crafted of a cool, lightweight cotton/linen blend, this shirt exhibits the same subtle irregular coloration and is finished with coconut shell buttons. @brando.boomin walked you through the shirt details yesterday, but if you’re local to our flagship stores we encourage you to come in and see it for yourself.
