In a recent post, we made mention of Spade (From Citizen Kane) putting us onto a Dream Warriors song called 12 Sided Dice during his interview from Drop the Needle. As I assemble the deleted scenes/extended takes for the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release of Drop the Needle, I rewatched that particular soundbyte and was reminded just how great the overall point Spade was making. It's called Open Format, and its importance to introducing new sounds appears to be lost in this day and age (although I am sure there are still a few DJs doing Open Format sets) Our upcoming DVD/Blu-ray release will include over 20 minutes of extra footage, as well as a Directors commentary AND the brand new 40 minute Documentary "Drop the Needle (B-Side). More details coming in the next few weeks.
